18 They dwelt from Hav′ilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt in the direction of Assyria; he settled[a] over against all his people.

19 [b]These are the descendants of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham was the father of Isaac, 20 and Isaac was forty years old when he took to wife Rebekah, the daughter of Bethu′el the Arame′an of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Arame′an.

18 His descendants(A) settled in the area from Havilah to Shur,(B) near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward[a] all the tribes related to them.(C)
Jacob and Esau
19 This is the account(D) of the family line of Abraham’s son Isaac.
Abraham became the father of Isaac, 20 and Isaac was forty years old(E) when he married Rebekah(F) daughter of Bethuel(G) the Aramean from Paddan Aram[b](H) and sister of Laban(I) the Aramean.(J)
