² Then He said, “Take now your son, ^(A)your only son Isaac, whom you ^(B)love, and go ^(C)to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a ^(D)burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

¹³ Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

²⁵ But Moses said, “You must also give ^[a]us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.

²⁴ An altar of ^(A)earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, ^(B)your sheep and your oxen. In every ^(C)place where I ^[a]record My name I will come to you, and I will ^(D)bless you.

^29 (A)And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and ^(B)offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
