16 And said, (A)By [a]myself have I sworn (saith the Lord) because thou hast done this thing, and hast not spared thine only son,
17 Therefore will I surely bless thee, and will greatly multiply thy seed, as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore, and thy seed shall possess the [b]gate of his enemies.
18 (B)And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice.

16 and said, “I swear by myself,(A) declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,(B) 17 I will surely bless you(C) and make your descendants(D) as numerous as the stars in the sky(E) and as the sand on the seashore.(F) Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,(G) 18 and through your offspring[a] all nations on earth will be blessed,[b](H) because you have obeyed me.”(I)
