³ Indeed, ^(A)Yahweh will comfort Zion;
He will comfort all her ^(B)waste places.
And her ^(C)wilderness He will make like ^(D)Eden,
And her desert like the ^(E)garden of Yahweh;
^(F)Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.

⁸ The ^(A)cedars in ^(B)God’s garden ^[a]could not match it;
The ^[b]cypresses ^[c]could not liken themselves with its boughs,
And the plane trees were not like its branches.
No tree in ^(C)God’s garden ^[d]could liken itself with it in its beauty.
⁹ I made it beautiful with the multitude of its foliage,
And all the trees of ^(D)Eden, which were in the ^(E)garden of God, were jealous of it.
