14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Therefore, I will send fire against Hazael’s palace,
and it will consume Ben-hadad’s(A) citadels.
I will break down the gates[a](B) of Damascus.
I will cut off the ruler from the Valley of Aven,
and the one who wields the scepter from Beth-eden.
The people of Aram will be exiled to Kir.(C)
The Lord has spoken.

The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing Gaza(D)
for three crimes, even four,
because they exiled a whole community,
handing them over to Edom.
Therefore, I will send fire against the walls of Gaza,
and it will consume its citadels.
I will cut off the ruler from Ashdod,(E)
and the one who wields the scepter from Ashkelon.(F)
I will also turn My hand against Ekron,
and the remainder of the Philistines(G) will perish.
The Lord God has spoken.

The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing Tyre(H)
for three crimes, even four,
because they handed over
a whole community of exiles to Edom
and broke[b] a treaty of brotherhood.(I)
10 Therefore, I will send fire(J) against the walls of Tyre,
and it will consume its citadels.

11 The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing Edom(K)
for three crimes, even four,
because he pursued his brother with the sword.(L)
He stifled his compassion,
his anger tore at them(M) continually,
and he harbored his rage incessantly.
12 Therefore, I will send fire against Teman,(N)
and it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.

13 The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing the Ammonites(O)
for three crimes, even four,
because they ripped open
the pregnant women of Gilead(P)
in order to enlarge their territory.(Q)
14 Therefore, I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah,(R)
and it will consume its citadels.
There will be shouting on the day of battle(S)
and a violent wind on the day of the storm.(T)
15 Their king and his princes
will go into exile together.(U)
The Lord has spoken.

The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing Moab(V)
for three crimes, even four,
because he burned the bones
of the king of Edom to lime.(W)
Therefore, I will send fire against Moab,
and it will consume the citadels of Kerioth.(X)
Moab will die with a tumult,(Y)
with shouting and the sound of the ram’s horn.
I will cut off the judge(Z) from the land
and kill all its officials(AA) with him.
The Lord has spoken.

Judgment on Judah

The Lord says:

I will not relent from punishing Judah(AB)
for three crimes, even four,
because they have rejected the instruction of the Lord(AC)
and have not kept His statutes.(AD)
The lies(AE) that their ancestors followed(AF)
have led them astray.
Therefore, I will send fire(AG) against Judah,
and it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem.

    and sold them to Edom,(K)
I will send fire on the walls of Gaza
    that will consume her fortresses.
I will destroy the king[c] of Ashdod(L)
    and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon.
I will turn my hand(M) against Ekron,
    till the last of the Philistines(N) are dead,”(O)
says the Sovereign Lord.(P)

This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Tyre,(Q)
    even for four, I will not relent.(R)
Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom,
    disregarding a treaty of brotherhood,(S)
10 I will send fire on the walls of Tyre
    that will consume her fortresses.(T)

11 This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Edom,(U)
    even for four, I will not relent.
Because he pursued his brother with a sword(V)
    and slaughtered the women of the land,
because his anger raged continually
    and his fury flamed unchecked,(W)
12 I will send fire on Teman(X)
    that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.(Y)

13 This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Ammon,(Z)
    even for four, I will not relent.
Because he ripped open the pregnant women(AA) of Gilead
    in order to extend his borders,
14 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah(AB)
    that will consume(AC) her fortresses
amid war cries(AD) on the day of battle,
    amid violent winds(AE) on a stormy day.
15 Her king[d] will go into exile,
    he and his officials together,(AF)
says the Lord.(AG)

This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Moab,(AH)
    even for four, I will not relent.
Because he burned to ashes(AI)
    the bones of Edom’s king,
I will send fire on Moab
    that will consume the fortresses of Kerioth.[e](AJ)
Moab will go down in great tumult
    amid war cries(AK) and the blast of the trumpet.(AL)
I will destroy her ruler(AM)
    and kill all her officials with him,”(AN)
says the Lord.(AO)

This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Judah,(AP)
    even for four, I will not relent.
Because they have rejected the law(AQ) of the Lord
    and have not kept his decrees,(AR)
because they have been led astray(AS) by false gods,[f](AT)
    the gods[g] their ancestors followed,(AU)
I will send fire(AV) on Judah
    that will consume the fortresses(AW) of Jerusalem.(AX)

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

11 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

13 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:

But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the Lord.

Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the Lord, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:

But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
