¹² For the generations to come^(A) every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised,^(B) including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring.

⁵⁹ On the eighth day they came to circumcise^(A) the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah,

²¹ On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child,^(A) he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.^(B)

²² Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision^(A) (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs),^(B) you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath. ²³ Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath?
