⁵ And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and ^(A)count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “^(B)So shall your ^[a]descendants be.”

^4 (A)I will multiply your ^[a]descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your ^[b]descendants all these lands; and ^(B)by your ^[c]descendants all the nations of the earth ^[d]shall be blessed;

²² As the ^(A)host of heaven cannot be counted and the ^(B)sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will ^(C)multiply the ^[a]descendants of David My servant and the ^(D)Levites who minister to Me.’”

¹² Therefore there was born even of one man, and ^(A)him as good as dead ^[a]at that, as many descendants ^(B)as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
