15 After these events, the word of the Lord came^(A) to Abram in a vision:

your reward will be very great.

³ God said, “I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.^(A)

²⁰ Moses responded to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you will fear him and will not^[a] sin.”^(A)

¹⁵ and he said, “Listen carefully, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast number,^(A) for the battle is not yours, but God’s.^(B)

¹⁷ You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.^(A) He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged.^(B) Tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.’”^(C)
