7 And there was (A)strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. (B)The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land.
8 So Abram said to Lot, (C)“Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. 9 (D)Is not the whole land before you? Please (E)separate from me. (F)If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”

7 And quarreling(A) arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites(B) and Perizzites(C) were also living in the land(D) at that time.
8 So Abram said to Lot,(E) “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me,(F) or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.(G) 9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”(H)
