Genesis 11:3-5
American Standard Version
3 And they said one to another, Come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and [a]slime had they for mortar. 4 And they said, Come, let us build us a city, and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and let us make us a name; lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

Genesis 11:3-5
New International Version
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks(A) and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone,(B) and tar(C) for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens,(D) so that we may make a name(E) for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered(F) over the face of the whole earth.”(G)
5 But the Lord came down(H) to see the city and the tower the people were building.
