10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went into Assyria, and built Nin′eveh, Reho′both-Ir, Calah, and 12 Resen between Nin′eveh and Calah; that is the great city.

10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon,(A) Uruk,(B) Akkad and Kalneh,(C) in[a] Shinar.[b](D) 11 From that land he went to Assyria,(E) where he built Nineveh,(F) Rehoboth Ir,[c] Calah 12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah—which is the great city.
