Galatians 3:18-20
Contemporary English Version
18 (A) If we have to obey the Law in order to receive God's blessings, those blessings don't really come to us because of God's promise. But God was kind to Abraham and made him a promise.
19 What is the use of the Law? It was given later to show that we sin. But it was only supposed to last until the coming of that descendant[a] who was given the promise. In fact, angels gave the Law to Moses, and he gave it to the people. 20 There is only one God, and the Law did not come directly from him.

Galatians 3:18-20
New International Version
18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise;(A) but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.
19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions(B) until the Seed(C) to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels(D) and entrusted to a mediator.(E) 20 A mediator,(F) however, implies more than one party; but God is one.
