8 since the one at work in Peter for an apostleship to the circumcised was also at work in me for the Gentiles. 9 When James,(A) Cephas,[a](B) and John(C)—those recognized as pillars(D)—acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They asked only that we would remember the poor,(E) which I had made every effort to do.

8 For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle(A) to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle(B) to the Gentiles. 9 James,(C) Cephas[a](D) and John, those esteemed as pillars,(E) gave me and Barnabas(F) the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me.(G) They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles,(H) and they to the circumcised. 10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor,(I) the very thing I had been eager to do all along.
