(A)But those who seemed to be the leaders—I say this because it makes no difference to me what they were; God does not judge by outward appearances—those leaders, I say, made no new suggestions to me. On the contrary, they saw that God had given me the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles, just as he had given Peter the task of preaching the gospel to the Jews. For by God's power I was made an apostle to the Gentiles, just as Peter was made an apostle to the Jews.

As for those who were held in high esteem(A)—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism(B)—they added nothing to my message.(C) On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task(D) of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised,[a](E) just as Peter(F) had been to the circumcised.[b] For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle(G) to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle(H) to the Gentiles.
