²⁹ But the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ Are My ways not right, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not right?

¹⁷ “Yet ^[a]your fellow citizens say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right,’ when it is their own way that is not right.

²⁰ Yet you say, ‘^(A)The way of the Lord is not right.’ O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways.”

¹⁷ You have ^(A)wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say, “How have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “^(B)Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He ^(C)delights in them,” or, “^(D)Where is the God of ^(E)justice?”

¹³ “Your words have been ^[a]arrogant against Me,” says the Lord. “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’ ¹⁴ You have said, ‘It is ^(A)vain to serve God; and what ^(B)profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked in mourning before the Lord of hosts? ¹⁵ So now we ^(C)call the arrogant blessed; not only are the doers of wickedness built up but they also test God and ^(D)escape.’”
