Ezekiel 24:2-4

2 ‘Son of man, remember this day. Write it down. On this day, the king of Babylon is starting to attack Jerusalem. 3 Tell a story to these people who refuse to obey me. Say to them, “This is what the Almighty Lord says:

Put the pot on the fire. Put it there now.
Pour some water into the pot.
4 Put the pieces of meat into it.
Put in all the good pieces of meat.
Put in the leg and the shoulder.
Fill it with all the best bones.

2 “Son of man, record(A) this date, this very date, because the king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem this very day.(B) 3 Tell this rebellious people(C) a parable(D) and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘Put on the cooking pot;(E) put it on
    and pour water into it.
4 Put into it the pieces of meat,
    all the choice pieces—the leg and the shoulder.
Fill it with the best of these bones;(F)
