⁸ does not take advance or accrued interest, withholds his hand from iniquity, executes true justice between contending parties,^(A)

¹⁷ withholds his hand from iniquity,^[a] takes no advance or accrued interest, observes my ordinances, and follows my statutes, he shall not die for his father’s iniquity; he shall surely live.

⁴ then if any who hear the sound of the trumpet do not take warning and the sword comes and takes them away, their blood shall be upon their own heads.^(A)

⁵ They heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; their blood shall be upon themselves. But if they had taken warning, they would have saved their lives.^(A)
