23 (A)Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares Lord Yahweh, “is it not that he should (B)turn from his ways and live?

24 “But when a righteous man (C)turns away from his righteousness, does injustice, and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? (D)All his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered for his (E)unfaithfulness which he has committed and his sin which he has committed; for them he will die. 25 Yet you say, ‘(F)The way of the Lord is not right.’ Hear now, O house of Israel! Is (G)My way not right? Is it not your ways that are not right?

23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased(A) when they turn from their ways and live?(B)

24 “But if a righteous person turns(C) from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness(D) they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.(E)

25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’(F) Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust?(G) Is it not your ways that are unjust?
