Ezekiel 14:15-17

¹⁵“If I cause ^(A)wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ^[a]empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, ¹⁶even ^(B)though these three men were ^[b]in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be ^(C)desolate.

¹⁷“Or if ^(D)I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land,’ and I ^(E)cut off man and beast from it,

¹⁵“Or if I send wild beasts^(A) through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,^(B) ¹⁶as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.^(C)
