16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder(A) and lightning, with a thick cloud(B) over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast.(C) Everyone in the camp trembled.(D)

18 When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet(A) and saw the mountain in smoke,(B) they trembled with fear.(C) They stayed at a distance
5 (At that time I stood between(A) the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid(B) of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:
18 Then Samuel called on the Lord,(A) and that same day the Lord sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe(B) of the Lord and of Samuel.
