11 “Observe what I command you today. See, I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.(A) 12 Take care not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you are going, or it will become a snare among you.(B) 13 Rather, you shall tear down their altars, break their pillars, and cut down their sacred poles,[a](C)

I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.(B) 12 Be careful not to make a treaty(C) with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare(D) among you. 13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.[a](E)
