¹¹ Obey what I command you this day. Indeed, I am going to drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. ¹² Watch yourself so that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it become a snare in your midst. ¹³ But you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and cut down their Asherah poles^[a]
