Exodus 32:31-33
Contemporary English Version
31 Moses returned to the Lord and said, “The people have committed a terrible sin. They have made a gold idol to be their god. 32 (A) But I beg you to forgive them. If you don't, please wipe my name out of your book.”[a]
33 The Lord replied, “I will wipe out of my book the name of everyone who has sinned against me.

- 32.32 your book: The people of Israel believed that the Lord kept a record of the names of his people, and anyone whose name was removed from that book no longer belonged to the Lord.

New International Version
31 So Moses went back to the Lord and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed!(A) They have made themselves gods of gold.(B) 32 But now, please forgive their sin(C)—but if not, then blot me(D) out of the book(E) you have written.”
33 The Lord replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out(F) of my book.
