⁸ I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey^(A)—the territory of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.^(B)

³ Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you because you are a stiff-necked people; otherwise, I might destroy you on the way.”^(A)

¹⁴ Furthermore, you didn’t bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey or give us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men? We will not come!”

⁶ For the Israelites wandered in the wilderness 40 years until all the nation’s men of war who came out of Egypt had died off because they did not obey the Lord.^(A) So the Lord vowed never to let them see the land He had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(B)
