¹² He answered, “I will certainly be with you,^(A) and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship^[a] God at this mountain.”

³⁴ This will be the sign that will come to you concerning your two sons Hophni and Phinehas:^(A) both of them will die on the same day.^(B)

³ He gave a sign^(A) that day. He said, “This is the sign that the Lord has spoken: ‘The altar will now be ripped apart, and the ashes that are on it will be poured out.’”^(B)

¹⁴ Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you^[a] a sign: The virgin will conceive,^[b] have a son, and name him Immanuel.^[c](A)
