¹² The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there so that I may give you the stone tablets^(A) with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”

¹⁵ Then Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides—inscribed front and back. ¹⁶ The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was God’s writing, engraved on the tablets.^(A)

¹³ He declared His covenant^(A) to you. He commanded you to follow the Ten Commandments, which He wrote on two stone tablets.

²² “The Lord spoke these commands in a loud voice to your entire assembly from the fire, cloud, and thick darkness on the mountain; He added nothing more. He wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me.

³ It is clear that you are Christ’s letter,^(A) produced^[a] by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God^(B)—not on stone tablets^(C) but on tablets that are hearts of flesh.^(D)
