⁸“Do not accept a bribe,^(A) for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.

Exodus 23:8

King James Version

⁸And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

⁸And ^(A)you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the discerning and perverts the words of the righteous.

¹⁶“‘Do not go about spreading slander^(A) among your people.

“‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life.^(B) I am the Lord.

¹⁶Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord.

¹⁶You shall not go about as a ^(A)talebearer among your people; nor shall you ^(B)take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.
