12 If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it as evidence. He is not required to pay for what has been torn to pieces.

13 “If a man borrows anything belonging to his neighbor, and it is harmed or dies in the absence of the owner, he must make full restitution. 14 But if the owner is present, he is not required to pay restitution. If it was rented, it is covered by the rental fee.

12 But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution(A) must be made to the owner. 13 If it was torn to pieces by a wild animal, the neighbor shall bring in the remains as evidence and shall not be required to pay for the torn animal.(B)

14 “If anyone borrows an animal from their neighbor and it is injured or dies while the owner is not present, they must make restitution.(C)
