^5 (A)you shall not bow down to them nor ^[a]serve them. ^(B)For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, ^(C)visiting^[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

³⁹ And those of you who are left ^(A)shall ^[a]waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands;

also in their ^(B)fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away.
