Exodus 2:21-23

21 Moses agreed to stay with the man. The man gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses as a wife. 22 She gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, for he said, “I have become an alien[a] living in a foreign land.”
God Hears Israel’s Groaning
23 After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their slavery. They cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.

New International Version
21 Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah(A) to Moses in marriage. 22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom,[a](B) saying, “I have become a foreigner(C) in a foreign land.”
23 During that long period,(D) the king of Egypt died.(E) The Israelites groaned in their slavery(F) and cried out, and their cry(G) for help because of their slavery went up to God.
