2 The woman conceived and bore a son, and (A)when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3 When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes[a] and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the (B)reeds by the river bank.

2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine(A) child, she hid him for three months.(B) 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus(C) basket[a] for him and coated it with tar and pitch.(D) Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds(E) along the bank of the Nile.
