Exodus 17:4-6
New Life Version
4 So Moses called to the Lord, saying, “What should I do with these people? They are almost ready to throw stones at me.” 5 The Lord said to Moses, “Pass in front of the people and take some of the leaders of Israel with you. Take the special stick in your hand with which you hit the Nile, and go. 6 See, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb. When you hit the rock, water will come out of it and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, with the leaders of Israel watching.

New International Version
4 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone(A) me.”
5 The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff(B) with which you struck the Nile,(C) and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.(D) Strike(E) the rock, and water(F) will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
