Moshe cried out to Adonai, “What am I to do with these people? They’re ready to stone me!” Adonai answered Moshe, “Go on ahead of the people, and bring with you the leaders of Isra’el. Take your staff in your hand, the one you used to strike the river; and go. I will stand in front of you there on the rock in Horev. You are to strike the rock, and water will come out of it, so the people can drink.” Moshe did this in the sight of the leaders of Isra’el.

Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone(A) me.”

The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff(B) with which you struck the Nile,(C) and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.(D) Strike(E) the rock, and water(F) will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
