³ The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by pots of meat and ate all the bread we wanted. Instead, you brought us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of hunger!”^(A)

²¹ Then he will bring the bull outside the camp^(A) and burn it just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.

⁷ When calling the assembly together, you are to sound long blasts, not short ones.

¹⁵ The assembly is to have the same statute for^[a] both you and the foreign resident as a permanent statute throughout your generations. You and the foreigner will be alike before the Lord.

⁶ Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the doorway of the tent of meeting. They fell down with their faces to the ground, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.

¹⁰ Moses and Aaron summoned the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels! Must we bring water out of this rock for you?”
