² The entire Israelite community grumbled^(A) against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.

⁷ and in the morning you will see the Lord’s glory because he has heard your complaints about him. For who are we that you complain about us?” ^{(A) 8} Moses continued, “The Lord will give you meat to eat this evening and all the bread you want in the morning, for he has heard the complaints that you are raising against him. Who are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the Lord.”^(B)

³ But the people thirsted there for water and grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you ever bring us up from Egypt to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” ^(A)

²⁹ Your corpses will fall in this wilderness—all of you who were registered in the census, the entire number of you twenty years old or more^(A)—because you have complained about me.

³⁶ So the men Moses sent to scout out the land, and who returned and incited the entire community to complain about him by spreading a negative report about the land—
