23 Then the Egyptians followed them between the walls of water along the bottom of the sea—all of Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen. 24 But in the early morning Jehovah looked down from the cloud of fire upon the array of the Egyptians, and began to harass them. 25 Their chariot wheels began coming off, so that their chariots scraped along the dry ground. “Let’s get out of here,” the Egyptians yelled. “Jehovah is fighting for them and against us.”

23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen(A) followed them into the sea. 24 During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud(B) at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.(C) 25 He jammed[a] the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting(D) for them against Egypt.”(E)
