^2 (A)“Consecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine.”

^12 (A)you shall set apart to the Lord all that first opens the womb. All the firstborn of your animals that are males shall be the Lord's. ^13 (B)Every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. Every ^(C)firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.

²⁶ “But a ^(A)firstborn of animals, which as a firstborn belongs to the Lord, no man may dedicate; whether ox or sheep, it is the Lord's. ²⁷ And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back at the valuation, ^(B)and add a fifth to it; or, if it is not redeemed, it shall be sold at the valuation.

^15 (A)Everything that opens the womb of all flesh, whether man or beast, which they offer to the Lord, shall be yours. Nevertheless, ^(B)the firstborn of man you shall redeem, and the firstborn of unclean animals you shall redeem. ¹⁶ And their redemption price ^(C)(at a month old you shall redeem them) you shall fix at five shekels^[a] in silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, ^(D)which is twenty gerahs.
