Death of the Firstborn of Egypt

²⁹ Now it happened at ^(A)midnight that ^(B)Yahweh struck all ^(C)the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the ^[a]dungeon, and all the firstborn of ^(D)cattle. ³⁰ Then Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was ^(E)a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead.

⁴⁶ And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put in it fire from the altar, and lay incense on it; then bring it quickly to the congregation and ^(A)make atonement for them, for ^(B)wrath has gone forth from Yahweh, the plague has begun!” ⁴⁷ Then Aaron took it as Moses had spoken, and ran into the midst of the assembly, for behold, the plague had begun among the people. ^(C)So he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. ⁴⁸ And he took his stand between the dead and the living, so that the plague was checked. ^49 (D)But those who died by the plague were 14,700, besides those who ^(E)died on account of Korah.
