22 Take a bunch of (A)hyssop and (B)dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch (C)the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. (D)None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. 23 (E)For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on (F)the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and (G)will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. 24 You shall observe this rite as a statute for you and for your sons for ever.

22 Take a bunch of hyssop,(A) dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood(B) on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. 23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike(C) down the Egyptians, he will see the blood(D) on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over(E) that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer(F) to enter your houses and strike you down.

24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance(G) for you and your descendants.
