2 “(A)This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth of this month they are each one to take a [a]lamb for themselves, according to their fathers’ households, a [b]lamb for [c]each household. 4 Now if the household is too small for a [d]lamb, then he and his neighbor nearest to his house are to take one according to the [e]number of persons in them; according to [f]what each man should eat, you are to [g]apportion the lamb.

New International Version
2 “This month is to be for you the first month,(A) the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb[a](B) for his family, one for each household.(C) 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.
