⁸ Now write another decree^(A) in the king’s name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal^(B) it with the king’s signet ring^(C)—for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”^(D)

²⁴ “As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “even if you, Jehoiachin^[b](C) son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, were a signet ring^(D) on my right hand, I would still pull you off. ²⁵ I will deliver^(E) you into the hands of those who want to kill you, those you fear—Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Babylonians.^[c]
