²⁷ that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^(A)

¹⁶ It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.^(A)

²⁴ Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am^[a] they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.^(A)

^29 [a]For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.^(A)

¹³ But we ought to give thanks to God for you always, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits^[a] for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in truth.^(A)
