Ephesians 6

Revised Geneva Translation

6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord. For this is right.

² Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),

³ so that it may be well with you and that you may live long on earth.

⁴ And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger. But bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

⁵ Servants, be obedient to your masters, according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of heart, as unto Christ;

⁶ not with service to the eye (as man-pleasers) but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart

⁷ with good will, serving the Lord and not man.

⁸ And know that whatever good thing anyone does, that same shall he receive from the Lord, whether slave or free.

⁹ And masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening and knowing that your master also is in Heaven. And there is no partiality with Him.

¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the deceit of the devil.

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the kings, against the authorities, and against the rulers of the darkness of this world; against the spiritual forces of iniquity which are in the high place.

¹³ For this reason take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on the evil day. And having finished all things, stand fast.

¹⁴ Stand therefore, having wrapped your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.

¹⁵ And shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

¹⁶ Above all, take the shield of Faith, with which you may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

¹⁸ And pray always, with all manner of prayer and supplication, in the Spirit. And watch for this very thing - with all perseverance and supplication - for all Saints

¹⁹ and for me; that a word may be given to me, so that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the secret of the Gospel,

²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in a chain. So that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

²¹ And so that you may also know my affairs (and what I do) Tychicus, my dear brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things.

²² I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you might know my affairs and that he might comfort your hearts.

²³ Peace to the brothers and love with faith, from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴ Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ incorruptibly. Amen.
