Ephesians 1:4-6
Contemporary English Version
4 Before the world was created, God had Christ choose us to live with him and to be his holy and innocent and loving people. 5 God was kind[a] and decided that Christ would choose us to be God's own adopted children. 6 God treated us with undeserved grace because of the Son he dearly loves, and so we should praise God.

4 For he chose us(A) in him before the creation of the world(B) to be holy and blameless(C) in his sight. In love(D) 5 he[a] predestined(E) us for adoption to sonship[b](F) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure(G) and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace,(H) which he has freely given us in the One he loves.(I)
