Ephesians 5:5-14
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
5 Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.(A)
Duty to Live in the Light. 6 (B)Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient.[a] 7 So do not be associated with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,(C) 9 for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.(D) 10 Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.(E) 11 Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,(F) 12 for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret; 13 but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,(G) 14 for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says:(H)
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”[b]
Ephesians 5:5-14
New International Version
5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater(A)—has any inheritance(B) in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a](C) 6 Let no one deceive you(D) with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath(E) comes on those who are disobedient.(F) 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
8 For you were once(G) darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light(H) 9 (for the fruit(I) of the light consists in all goodness,(J) righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord.(K) 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness,(L) but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light(M) becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:

Ephesians 5:5-14
King James Version
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
