Ecclesiastes 7:19-21

¹⁹Wisdom makes a person stronger
than ten ·leaders [officials; rulers] in a city [9:13–16; Prov. 24:5–6].

²⁰Surely there is not a ·good [righteous] person on earth
who always does good and never sins [1 Kin. 8:46; Ps. 143:2; Prov. 20:9; Rom. 3:10–18].

²¹Don’t ·listen [^Lgive your heart] to everything people say,
or you might hear your servant insulting you.

¹⁹Wisdom^(A) makes one wise person more powerful^(B)
than ten rulers in a city.

²⁰Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,^(C)
no one who does what is right and never sins.^(D)

²¹Do not pay attention to every word people say,
or you^(E) may hear your servant cursing you—
