Ecclesiastes 1:11-13
World English Bible
11 There is no memory of the former; neither shall there be any memory of the latter that are to come, among those that shall come after.
12 I, the Preacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under the sky. It is a heavy burden that God[a] has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.

11 No one remembers the former generations,(A)
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.(B)

12 I, the Teacher,(C) was king over Israel in Jerusalem.(D) 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens.(E) What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!(F)
