11 No one remembers the things that happened before. And no one will remember the things that will happen in the future among those who will come later.
Looking for Wisdom Is like Trying to Catch the Wind
12 I, the Preacher, have been king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 And I set my mind to look for wisdom to learn about all that has been done under heaven. It is a hard work which God has given to the sons of men to be troubled with.

11 No one remembers the former generations,(A)
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.(B)
Wisdom Is Meaningless
12 I, the Teacher,(C) was king over Israel in Jerusalem.(D) 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens.(E) What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!(F)
