Ecclesiastes 1:11-13

11 There is (A)no remembrance of [a]earlier things;
And also of the [b]later things which will be,
There will be for them no remembrance
Among those who will come [c]later still.
The Vanity of Wisdom
12 I, the (B)Preacher, have been king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 And I (C)gave my heart to seek and (D)explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is [d]a grievous (E)endeavor which God has given to the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.

11 No one remembers the former generations,(A)
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.(B)
Wisdom Is Meaningless
12 I, the Teacher,(C) was king over Israel in Jerusalem.(D) 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens.(E) What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!(F)
