Ecclesiastes 1:11-13

11 There is no remembrance of those who[a] came before;(A)
and of those who[b] will come after
there will also be no remembrance
by those who follow them.
The Limitations of Wisdom
12 I, the Teacher,(B) have been[c] king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 I applied my mind to seek(C) and explore through wisdom all that is done under heaven.(D) God has given people this miserable task to keep them occupied.(E)

Wisdom Is Meaningless
12 I, the Teacher,(C) was king over Israel in Jerusalem.(D) 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens.(E) What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!(F)
